There are periods in life when we know that something has changed, even though we cannot yet say what comes next.
A job may still work on paper, but no longer feel right. A relationship, role, or way of living may gradually lose its meaning. We may feel less willing to tolerate things we accepted for years, yet have no clear idea what we want instead.
The usual response is to start looking for an answer. What should I change? What should I choose? What is my next step?
But there is a reason not to rush that answer. If we try to define the future too quickly, we may still be imagining it from a version of ourselves that is already beginning to change.
I developed the EDGE Model for that particular space between an old direction and one that has not yet become clear. It is taught within the Certified Light Body Meditation Teacher Training and combines guided conversation with principles and practices from the Nestioo Method.
EDGE stands for:
E: Explore what no longer fits
D: Detect the energetic response
G: Give space to the emerging frequency
E: Embody what begins to stabilize
These four stages are not meant to function as a rigid sequence. They offer a way of staying close to what is changing without forcing the process into a conclusion too quickly.
The model starts from the idea that change often begins before we fully understand where it is taking us.
E: Explore what no longer fits
The process starts with conversation. Rather than immediately searching for a new direction, the teacher helps the person look more closely at what has already started changing in their relationship with their current life. Sometimes this is obvious. Someone knows they want to leave a job or relationship. More often, the signs are quieter. Something requires more effort than it used to. A goal has lost some of its attraction. A role still makes sense intellectually, but feels increasingly difficult to inhabit.
In the Nestioo Core Module, I describe a similar process when teaching Vibe Recalibration, one of the core practices in the module: “Things that once felt normal may no longer feel aligned.”
The teacher may explore what has become harder to continue, what the person is less willing to tolerate, or where they notice a growing distance between how they live and how they now experience themselves. At this stage, the aim is simply to become clearer about what is already beginning to change.
D: Detect the energetic response
Once the person has become clearer about what is changing, conversation alone can only take the process so far. EDGE then shifts attention from explanation toward direct experience: what happens in the body when the person connects with the situation? When the person connects with the situation, do they experience openness, curiosity or movement? Is there tightness, pressure, heaviness or discomfort? Perhaps both appear at different moments.
The Nestioo Method describes these broad responses as Expansion Mode and Contraction Mode. They are useful because they bring attention away from explanation and toward direct experience.
Someone may spend twenty minutes explaining why a particular opportunity is perfect for them while noticing contraction whenever they speak about it. Another person may describe uncertainty while experiencing a quiet sense of openness or curiosity. These responses add information, but EDGE does not treat them as verdicts.
This part of EDGE draws directly on Somatic Presence.
The Core Module summarizes the principle as:
“Somatic Awareness is where we begin. Somatic Presence is how we practise.”
In EDGE, the teacher helps the person stay close enough to the bodily experience to notice what is actually happening, without immediately converting every sensation into meaning. Tightness is not automatically a warning. Openness is not automatically confirmation.
G: Give space to the emerging frequency
At some point, the question usually turns toward what comes next. For some people the answer is already becoming clear. For others, this is exactly where the difficulty begins: they know what no longer fits, but still cannot see what should replace it.
This is also where it becomes important not to define the next chapter too quickly. We may still be trying to imagine the future from an identity, inner configuration or set of familiar patterns that is already changing. As that inner configuration shifts, what feels like the right direction may shift with it.
One of the central ideas in the Nestioo Method is that “vibration is information.” From that perspective, the next stage does not necessarily begin with a mental picture of the future. The process may first involve becoming familiar with different inner qualities and energetic patterns before a clear picture of the future begins to form. The qualities that become relevant may differ from person to person. For one person the process may involve greater clarity, for another more courage, trust or stability.
In Vibe Recalibration, one of the practices taught in the Nestioo Core Module, we work with “the frequency that most supports your next stage of growth.” In practical terms, this means that the person does not have to decide in advance what the next chapter should look like. The meditation can instead support the inner qualities and energetic conditions from which the next direction may become easier to recognize as it begins to emerge.
Based on what came up during the conversation and somatic exploration, the Light Body Meditation Teacher helps establish an appropriate Nestioo Intention and guides the meditation process.
The person does not need to decide in advance what their new life should look like. Instead, the work begins by creating space for the inner conditions from which a different direction can gradually become recognizable. In that sense, EDGE works from the inside outward.
E: Embody what begins to stabilize
After the meditation and the conversation that follows, the person may notice that the original issue no longer carries the same weight. Something that felt complicated may seem easier to approach, a different thought may come into view, or an option that once seemed important may no longer hold the same attraction.
Sometimes there is no immediate sense that anything has changed. In Nestioo work, some shifts only become noticeable later, through the way we think, choose and respond in everyday life.
Practical action still matters, but it may begin to come from a different inner place - one that is less defined by the patterns and assumptions the person may already be outgrowing. The Core Module describes this clearly: “When change happens at the level of subtle energy patterns, it doesn't eliminate action. It changes the place from which action arises.”
The final EDGE stage explores whether anything now feels clearer, more natural or easier to move toward in everyday life. That may mean having a conversation, trying something different, stepping away from something that no longer fits, or simply giving the process more time before acting.
The next step can be small. What matters is that it reflects what is beginning to feel clearer or more natural.
Why EDGE is part of Light Body Meditation Teacher Training
I created EDGE because I see the role of a Light Body Meditation Teacher as extending beyond explaining Nestioo concepts and guiding meditation techniques. There is room for a more involved form of work.
A teacher can help someone clarify what is changing, notice how the transition is being experienced in the body, establish an appropriate energetic direction, move into a Light Body meditation and then return to conversation afterward.
The aim is to connect the meditation with what is actually changing in the person's life, while leaving the direction of that life firmly in their hands. EDGE is not designed to tell someone what their next chapter should be. That boundary matters in Nestioo.
The method is built around Intention, Forms and Allowing. Intention gives direction. Forms create the space in which energetic work can occur. Allowing reduces the tendency to manage every part of the process.
The EDGE Model is taught as part of the Certified Light Body Meditation Teacher Training, where students learn to use it as a structured framework for working with people who find themselves between an old chapter of life and a new direction that has not yet fully taken shape.
